On December 12, 2013 we welcomed miss Millie into our lives. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I remember being excited to find out whether we were having another boy or girl (although I knew in my heart it was a girl). I remember feeling a little anxious not knowing how I would manage 3, had fears about the cliche that “3 is a crowd,” and literally remember feeling the entire birth process because she came so fast I didn’t have enough time for epidural. Much to my surprise Millie alleviated many of my fears about having a growing family. Her fearless, fun loving and somewhat strong personality has challenged me to just “let go” sometimes, live in the moment and that so long as we have each other things will be okay. I’m excited to watch her grow, to share her gifts with the world and continue to push the boundaries to live the life she was meant to live.
These are a few photos of her leopard print/costume/slime birthday party she had with her besties. This convoluted birthday theme she chose accurately describes Amelia – sassy, unpredictable, sometimes complex but super sweet and perfect in my eyes. Happy 5th darling. Because of you, I can see the world in a way I never thought imaginable.
